Army Taps Day & Zimmermann to Supply Ammo Charge System Equipment

A Day & Zimmermann subsidiary will produce and deliver modular artillery charge system equipment for 155-millimeter ammunition to the U.S. Army under a $966.7 million contract.

Day & Zimmermann Lone Star will manufacture, assemble, inspect, package and deliver 155 mm MACS M231/M232-series combustible cartridge cases as part of the five-year contract, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Army Contracting Command received one bid for the firm-fixed-price contract and will determine work locations and budget with each contract order from D&Z.

DOD expects work to conclude by Sept. 27, 2028.

In February, D&Z’s  American Ordnance business unit secured a spot on a five-year, $993.8 million contract to produce 155 mm ammunition rounds for the Army.
