Simmerman is set to retire from HII at the end of March after a 32-year career, the military shipbuilder said Friday.
Gresham has been a key member of the company’s law department for more than eight years and will report directly to Chad Boudreaux, executive VP and chief legal officer, in her new position.
She initially served as senior counsel and director of compliance for nearly four years before transitioning to the roles of assistant general counsel and director of compliance and privacy in 2018.
The University of Mississippi School of Law graduate is a member of the board of directors at the Mississippi Corporate Counsel Association.
Her professional experience also included work as a consultant at Communication Counsel of America, a partner at Brunini Grantham Grower & Hewes and an attorney at Balch & Bingham.
