BAE Secures $143M Navy Surface Combat Systems Center Support Contract; Lisa Hand Quoted

BAE Systems has received a potential five-year, $143 million contract from the U.S. Navy to continue providing engineering, management, information technology and maintenance support services to the military branch’s Surface Combat Systems Center in Wallops Island, Virginia.

The company said Tuesday such services to be provided under the contract with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division will support the integration of mission equipment, computer programs and combat systems at SCSC that sailors use for the modernization of all existing and future destroyers, cruisers and amphibious ships.

Our work at Wallops Island supports SCSC’s mission to provide increased readiness and improved capability to the fleet,” said Lisa Hand, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems Integrated Defense Solutions.

This effort is vital to our nation’s sailors in an increasingly challenging maritime environment,” added Hand.

The engineering, program and technical services that BAE provides for SCSC cover support for systems used for surface navy training, testing, interoperability, warfare systems integration and support of fielded surface combat platforms.
