The Cyber AB, which functions as an accreditation body for the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program, has established a subsidiary to manage the development of training and certification programs for professionals within the CMMC ecosystem.
The Cybersecurity Assessor and Instructor Certification Organization will function as an independent legal entity responsible for providing CMMC training, professional exams and certification of CMMC instructors and assessors, The Cyber AB said Wednesday.
“Creating and spinning-out the CAICO is an important milestone and reflects the increasing evolution and maturity of our organization,” said Cyber AB CEO Matthew Travis.
Melanie Kyle Gingrich, formerly vice president for training and certification, has been named interim executive director of CAICO.
The Cyber AB board of directors will name leaders to the CAICO board of managers, who will appoint a permanent executive director and provide oversight to the newly established organization.
CAICO will oversee relationships with CMMC licensed training providers and publishing partners and manage the formation, administration and validation of CMMC professional exams for instructors and assessors.
