A subsidiary of engineering and construction firm Kiewit has won a three-year, $309.7 million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to extend a military airport runway in Elmendorf, Alaska.

The agency obligated $69.1 million at the time of award using military construction, defense-wide funds for fiscal 2022, the Department of Defense said Friday.

USACE chose Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. to carry out the project and estimates the work to conclude on Aug. 14, 2025.
