AT&T Launches FirstNet Cell Sites at Redstone Arsenal to Support Army Incident Response Efforts; Jason Porter Quoted

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 13, 2021 — AT&T has provided first responders and security personnel at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, with wireless and secure communications network through the installation of FirstNet cell sites at the U.S. Army post, ExecutiveBiz reported Dec. 3.

Jason Porter, president of public sector and FirstNet at AT&T, said Army firefighters, law enforcement and security personnel will gain access to Band 14 spectrum to help them respond to incidents.

“FirstNet sites are constructed using Band 14 spectrum, as well as AT&T commercial spectrum. Band 14 is nationwide, high quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane.”
