Maxar EVP Tony Frazier Joins Iridium Board; Matt Desch Quoted

Tony Frazier, executive vice president for global field operations at Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, has joined the board of directors of Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM).

He will provide strategic oversight support for the Iridium enterprise as a board member, the communications satellite operator said Tuesday.

“As our company has completed its financial transformation and entered a period of strong free-cash-flow generation, Tony brings an ideal skill set to help further Iridium’s mission and help us plan toward our bright future,” said Matt Desch, Iridium CEO and seven-time Wash100 winner.

Frazier, who joined Maxar in 2017 following the MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates–DigitalGlobe merger, oversees business development, service delivery and sales functions related to field operations in his current role at the space technology provider.

The Maxar executive is also a board member at the Intelligence and National Security Alliance and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
