The retired U.S. Army lieutenant general will also help plan, manage and implement the defense unit's logistics activities, the company said Thursday.

In his most recent role, Williams managed DLA's $38B combat support operations, nine supply chains and more than 25K personnel. His oversight work included 25 global distribution hubs supporting the national defense stockpile.

Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos' defense group and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient, said Williams previously oversaw the National Defense Stockpile and managed military supply chains.

"Darrell brings a deep understanding of our customers' 'can't fail' missions and an unwavering commitment to their success," Fasano added.
