TYSONS CORNER, VA, November 19, 2019 — Steve Harris, senior vice president and general manager of Dell EMC‘s federal unit, said adopting a multicloud strategy can offer security, transparency and flexibility advantages to agencies, ExecutiveBiz reported Nov. 6.

In a commentary published Nov. 5 on Federal News Network, he wrote the strategy should include a hybrid cloud approach to help government organizations implement systems and processes that suit their needs rather than being confined to offerings from a single vendor.

He noted that multicloud environments allow users to also manage security of confidential data on-premises.

“To make the most of multi-cloud or any cloud environment, agencies should look at their long-term plan to determine how their infrastructure needs will evolve over the next five, 10 or even 20 years,” added Harris, a 2019 Wash100 awardee.
