Nazzic Keene Officially Elevates to SAIC CEO Role

Nazzic Keene

TYSONS CORNER, VA, August 12, 2019 — Nazzic Keene, 2019 Wash100 Award recipient, officially transitioned from her previous role as chief operating officer of Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) to be the company’s new CEO following the retirement of former top executive and fellow 2019 Wash100 Award winner Tony Moraco, ExecutiveBiz reported Aug. 1.

In addition to corporate recruiting and customer relationships, Keene will prioritize the company’s public sector offerings, including its space and intelligence products as well as its information technology services, SAIC said Aug. 1.

“I’m honored to lead SAIC as one of the largest independent technology integrators in government services,” said Keene.

She succeeds six-time Wash100 winner Moraco, who became SAIC’s CEO in 2013. The company announced Moraco’s planned July 31 retirement in March, naming Keene as the CEO successor elected by its board of directors.

“As a longtime leader at SAIC, Nazzic teamed with Tony over the past year to ensure a successful transition for SAIC and its shareholders,” said Donna Morea, board chair at SAIC.

“We are excited for Nazzic to begin her tenure as CEO and confident that she will bring the level of strategic foresight, focus on the customer mission and strong leadership to exploit SAIC’s strengths and opportunities,” she added.
