Tysons, Va.-based nonprofit government consulting services contractor LMI has acquired The Tauri Group for an undisclosed sum in a move to grow service offerings in the homeland security and defense markets.

LMI said Tuesday it sought to purchase a company with experience in the areas of defense, preparedness, emerging technology and life sciences.

Tamara Jack, chief legal officer and head of corporate development at LMI, said the transaction integrates complementary portfolios that could accelerate innovation efforts to support customers.

David Zolet, LMI CEO and a 2019 Wash100 winner, said the nonprofit and Tauri “share an inclusive culture and a commitment to excellence”

Tauri Group is headquartered in Alexandria, Va., and offers science and engineering advisory services, analytical studies, test and evaluation support, systems engineering, research and development program management and strategic planning services.
