Northrop Designates Latest Space Station Cargo Resupply Spacecraft as SS John Young


TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 29, 2018 — Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has named the Cygnus spacecraft that will launch Nov. 15 to bring scientific cargo to the International Space Station after the late NASA astronaut and U.S. Navy officer John Young, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

NASA said Friday the S.S. John Young, which will launch aboard an Antares rocket from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, will carry payloads designed to support space station research on areas such as cement solidification and the production of fiber optic cables in space.
