IBM to Develop Neural Inference Hardware & Software for Air Force

TYSONS CORNER, VA, September 24, 2018 — IBM (NYSE: IBM) will research, design, build, integrate and deliver a new neural inference system for the U.S. Air Force under a $14.8M contract, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The Defense Department said Thursday the company will work on the hardware and software for the “NorthPole” machine through the contract performance period ending June 2019 using fiscal years 2017 and 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
