General Dynamics Subsidiary Starts Construction of Navy Fleet Replenishment Oiler


TYSONS CORNER, VA, September 25, 2018 — A General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) business has held a steel-cutting ceremony to signify the start of construction on a U.S. Navy ship designed to supply fuel to carrier strike groups at sea, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Friday General Dynamics NASSCO will build the future USNS John Lewis, the first of six fleet replenishment oilers ordered under the Navy’s T-AO program, through November 2020.
