Raytheon’s Seasparrow Block 2 Missile Completes 1st NATO-Run Live Flight Test

TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 10, 2018 — The Raytheon-built (NYSE: RTN) Evolved Seasparrow Missile Block 2 system has undergone its first live-fire test during a demonstration flight overseen by NATO’s Seasparrow Project Office, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The U.S. Navy said Friday the activity focused on the function of the missile variant’s new active guidance seeker-head to help intercept a BQM-74E aerial target, as part of a series of tests to prepare ESSM Block 2 to enter production under the international NATO Seasparrow Project.
