Booz Allen Hamilton Helps FDA Test Healthcare Blockchain Technology

TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 26, 2018 — Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) has helped develop and test a blockchain-based platform designed to help the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Translational Sciences explore how to use the technology for healthcare applications, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The platform, which is currently implemented at four major hospitals as part of a pilot project, uses Ethereum to manage data access via private networks and is built on the InterPlanetary File System in order to utilize encryption and reduce data duplication, GCN reported Friday.

FDA plans to expand the pilot project to 20 hospitals by the end of 2018.
