General Atomics Extended-Range Avenger RPA Completes Nearly 24-Hour Endurance Flight

TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 9, 2018 — General Atomics has completed a nearly 24-hour endurance flight with the extended-range version of its Predator C Avenger remotely piloted aircraft in efforts to test its intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said Thursday the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. team flew the Avenger ER over 23.4 continuous hours to surpass the 20-hour flight test goal and improve on the baseline Avenger’s record by 10 hours.

GA-ASI is using the Avenger platform as a surrogate for its proposed aircraft under the U.S. Navy‘s MQ-25 Stingray carrier-based aerial refueling drone program.
