General Atomics Unit to Help Army Mature Electromagnetic Railgun Tech

TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 5, 2018 — A General Atomics business unit will work with the U.S. Army in efforts to advance electromagnetic railgun weapons technologies under a three-year contract, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said Thursday the Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium awarded the contract to General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems for technology maturation and evaluation support to Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Command.
