Lockheed-Built GPS III Satellite Links With Raytheon Ground Control System

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 15, 2017 — The first Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) GPS III satellite has established a connection with the launch-and-checkout system of Raytheon‘s (NYSE: RTN) ground control segment during a U.S. Air Force factory mission readiness test, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Lockheed said Wednesday GPS III Space Vehicle 01 communicated with the Raytheon-developed Next Generation Operational Control System during the test in November, which sought to verify command-and-control interaction and remote connectivity between the systems and confirm the satellite’s readiness to launch.
