TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 8, 2017 — IBM (NYSE: IBM) has been named by Victory Media as the 2018 Military Friendly Employer of the Year in recognition of the company’s military veteran hiring and training efforts, GovCon Executive reported Tuesday.
The company said Monday it aims to add 2,000 more veterans to its workforce over the next four years to continue its history of facilitating the transition of service members to civilian careers.
Sam Gordy, general manager of IBM’s U.S. federal business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, wrote in an earlier blog post that the company has also expanded a project to train veterans on the i2 Analyst’s Notebook visual analysis software with additional sessions in 2018.
