Emergent to Update DHA’s Software Licensing Model Under Potential $99M Contract

Emergent has won a potential five-year, $98.8 million contract to help the Defense Health Agency update its licensing model for software products from Oracle (NYSE: ORCL).

The Defense Department said Monday that Emergent will migrate and consolidate previous contracts for Oracle-made platforms as part of DHS’ efforts to eliminate duplication of procurement activities.

DHA aims to implement an unlimited quantity of Oracle software licenses in a move to address future operational requirements in service military medical treatment facilities.

The firm-fixed-price contract has a one-year base value of $8.4 million and all four option years have an equal value of $22.6 million a year, DoD noted.

DHA received three offers for the contract that was competitively solicited to certified Oracle resellers through the NASA‘s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement vehicle.

The initial contract value will be financed with DHA’s fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds.
