AWS Puts Spotlight on Cloud Computing for Military Mission Support


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 19, 2017 — Amazon Web Services held a webcast last week featuring Robert Work, former deputy defense secretary, on the applications of cloud computing technology for the military’s land, air and sea operations, GovCon Executive reported Monday.

The company said Friday the event focused on how cloud is key to help warfighters establish an advantage in the modern battlefield and cited the Defense Department‘s use of the AWS Secret Region to support sensitive workloads in the cloud and the AWS Partner Network to access a pool of technology and consulting service providers to address mission needs.
