Lockheed Martin to Integrate, Update Systems on SBIRS GEO-5, GEO-6 Satellites


TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 30, 2017 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will integrate subsystems and update propulsion systems on the fifth and sixth Space Based Infrared System satellites under a $46 million contract modification from the U.S. Air Force, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The Defense Department said Thursday Lockheed’s space systems business will perform contract work in support of the SBIRS GEO-5 and GEO-6 geosynchronous Earth orbit missile-warning satellites at a facility in California through July 2022.
