Elbit Systems (Nasdaq: ESLT) has received a potential five-year, $100 million contract from Israel’s ministry of defense to manufacture andÂ deliver hundredsÂ of advanced radio systems.
The Israel-headquartered company said WednesdayÂ it will supply handheld, airborne and vehicle mounted software-defined radios designedÂ to supportÂ high-security network services.
“We are very proud of this award, reinforcing our strategic partnership with the city of Arad on the one hand and with the IDF on the other,” saidÂ Bezhalel Machlis, Elbit Systems president and CEO.
The defense electronics companyÂ also expects to receive an additional order from the Israeli defense ministry forÂ maintenance and repair servicesÂ as part ofÂ the ministry’s outsourcingÂ strategy.
Elbit Systems added it willÂ employÂ 100 workers atÂ its Arad, Israel-based manufacturing and maintenance site as part of the firm’s expansion efforts.
