Air Force, Mythics Forge $293M Enterprise-Wide Oracle Software Licensing Deal

Mythics has won a potential five-year, $293.2 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force obtain an enterprise-wide license for a core set of software products from Oracle (NYSE: ORCL).

The Defense Department said Wednesday Mythics will provide an unlimited license agreement that includes a catalog containing price holds with discount on technology products and consolidates all enterprise license agreements on maintenance support for the Air Force’s 745,768 current Oracle licenses.

The consolidated ESLA is meant to help the service branch access the Defense Information Systems Agency-run cloud platform MilCloud and other cloud services, support implementation of Air Force Oracle software in a joint environment and replace the branch’s Oracle platforms that are near the end of product life cycle.

The service branch received three offers among participants in the department’s Oracle Enterprise Software Initiative for the firm-fixed-price contract through a competitive procurement.

DoD said the obligated amount of $17 million at the time of award is from the Air Force’s fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds.
