Stuart Kupinsky, former senior vice president and general counsel at Blackboard, now an Anthology company, has been appointed executive VP and chief legal officer at Mercury Systems (Nasdaq: MRCY).He will report to Chairman and CEO Bill Ballhaus and manage the company’s overall legal strategy covering intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions and enterprise contracts, Mercury Systems said Thursday.”He brings a wealth of experience in legal leadership roles and a track record of driving dynamic change for technology companies,” Ballhaus said.Prior to joining Blackboard, Kupinsky was chief counsel for FirstNet, an independent government agency that maintains an interoperable public safety broadband network.He also served as general counsel, corporate secretary and SVP of corporate affairs at telecommunications technology company Tekelec, which Oracle acquired in 2013.Before that, Kupinsky was a trial attorney for the Department of Justice and a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
