The U.S. Navy has awarded 15 companies positions on a potential five-year, $245.9 million contract to conduct research, develop, test and evaluate undersea weapons and undersea defensive technologies.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division in Newport, Rhode Island, launched an online procurement process and received 15 offers for the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
The IDIQ contract also includes design, fabrication, installation, production, documentation and delivery of rapid prototype materials and services.
Work will occur in Rhode Island, Washington and other government sites through January 2029.
The service will use its weapons procurement funds for fiscal year 2023 to obligate a total of $37,500, or $2,500 each, to contractors.
