The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) a one-year, $95.4 million contract modification to continue the production of Trident II D5 ballistic missiles and to support deployed missile systems.
The Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday that $90.1 million in obligated contract funds will expire by the end of the current fiscal year.
Lockheed’s space systems unit will perform work in various locations across the U.S. through Feb. 4, 2018.
The award of the modification comes a day after Lockheed received a separate $540.8 million modification to provide missile production and deployed systems support to the Trident II program.
The Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs office is the contracting activity.
