HII (NYSE: HII) has secured a $284 million contract modification to continue helping the U.S. Navy maintain and upgrade a Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered fast attack submarine.
The modification could reach a ceiling of $300 million if options are exercised and the award extends engineered overhaul work on the USS Columbus until December 2025, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Work will occur at HII’s shipbuilding facility in Newport News, Virginia.
Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate $169 million in the Navy’s fiscal 2024 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
