Lynx Software Technologies has acquired Thompson Software Solutions for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to form a platform company that will provide full software development life cycle support services for customers in aerospace and defense markets.
TSS CEO Les Thompson and Chief Strategy Officer Patrick McClellen will assume senior leadership positions at Lynx as a result of the transaction, according to a joint release published Tuesday.
Founded in 2004, TSS supports the Department of Defense, A&D original equipment manufacturers, prime integrators and commercial space companies by providing software development, engineering and integration support to military aircraft, command-and-control systems and hypersonic platforms.
Lynx CEO Tim Reed said the software development and integration capabilities of TSS will enable the company to help aerospace and defense OEMs and prime integrators speed up the design, development and deployment of their platforms.
“I’m thrilled to work with Les and the TSS team as we continue delivering comprehensive and unique software-enabled solutions to customers whose needs extend from the development pipeline to the Mission Critical Edge,” added Reed.
San Jose, California-based Lynx is a portfolio company of private equity firm OceanSound Partners focused on building and fielding mission-critical edge systems through modular, open standards-based platforms.
