HII Books $197M Recompete Contract for Joint Training Synthetic Environment R&D

HII‘s (NYSE: HII) mission technologies division has secured a five-year, $197 million recompete task order to help the Joint Chiefs of Staff J7 directorate develop joint training capabilities for the Department of Defense.

The task order was awarded under DOD’s Information Analysis Center contract vehicle and covers research and development work for the Joint Training Synthetic Environment, HII said Friday.

JTSE is a single architecture that integrates live and virtual training to support operational needs and mission readiness objectives of combatant commands, military service branches and industry partners.

Work under the recompete task order will primarily occur in Suffolk, Virginia.

“As the battlespace becomes more complex, so does the need for warfighters who are fully equipped to handle any challenge,” said Glenn Goodman, president of HII Mission Technologies’ LVC Solutions business group.

HII inherited the task order through its $1.65 billion acquisition of Alion Science and Technology in August 2021.

Alion secured the original contract in October 2020 to update the JTSE architecture for training joint forces.
