McAleese & Associates: Michael Griffin Wants DoD to Build ‘Proliferated LEO’ Constellation

McAleese & Associates has released a report on key takeaways from the remarks of Michael Griffin, undersecretary for research and engineering at the Department of Defense and a 2019 Wash100 award winner, at a Chamber of Commerce event held Tuesday. Griffin said the Pentagon must have a dedicated proliferated LEO system or constellation of small satellites in low-Earth orbit designed for the existential U.S. survival mission.

General Dynamics Awarded Potential $24.1B Contract Modification for Block V Virginia-Class Submarines

General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat subsidiary has received a potential $24.1B contract modification to build nine Block V Virginia-class submarines. Electric Boat will work with Huntington Ingalls Industries' (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division to build the submarines under the multiyear contract, which includes an option for one additional vessel with the Virginia Payload Module.
