Former DoD Exec Peter Ranks Returns to CIA to Support Cloud Procurement Program

Peter Ranks, former deputy chief information officer for information enterprise at the Department of Defense, has left DoD for a role at the Central Intelligence Agency where he will support cloud procurement, Federal News Network reported Tuesday. Ranks returns to the CIA to help the agency run the Commercial Cloud Enterprise or C2E program that aims to procure cloud products and services.

He will succeed former CISO Jack Wilmer, who left the role in July 2020 to lead a private security company. Mark Hakun has served as acting CISO since Wilmer’s resignation.

General Dynamics IT Unit Re-Awarded BPA to Help DoD Adopt Cloud Collaboration Tools

An industry team led by General Dynamics' (NYSE: GD) information technology business will help the Department of Defense implement cloud-based communication and collaboration applications under a potential 10-year, $4.4B blanket purchase agreement. The General Services Administration and DoD re-awarded the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions contract to CSRA, which GDIT acquired in 2018, as a result of corrective action following protests to the BPA originally awarded in August last year, GSA said Friday.
