Dana Deasy, chief information officer at the Department of Defense and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, told Breaking Defense in an interview published Tuesday that the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing program seeks to deliver a unique capability to troops operating at the tactical edge. He said JEDI satisfies several warfighting needs that other cloud environments cannot meet, including the capability to transmit data across unclassified, secret and top secret classification levels and handle data outside the continental U.S. and CONUS.

Library of Congress Seeks Proposals for $150M Cloud Services IDIQ

The Library of Congress has issued a solicitation for a potential five-year, $150M contract to provide cloud computing, professional services, training and related services in support of the information technology needs of LOC’s service units and legislative agencies. A notice posted Friday says the single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract should include the delivery of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services cloud services.
