BAE, Serco, SRC Awarded $1.8B in IDIQ Contracts to Support Navy Ship C4I Systems

BAE SystemsSerco Inc. and Scientific Research Corp. have won 10-year contracts worth up to $1.81B combined to provide integrated command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems for the U.S. Navy's shipbuilding programs. Contractors will help the service branch engineer, fabricate, assemble, test, install and perform logistics work on C4I system of systems aboard large deck amphibious ships and new construction aircraft carriers, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Andover, Mass.-based military electronics provider Mercury Systems (Nasdaq: MRCY) has acquired GECO Avionics for approximately $36.5M cash. Mercury said Tuesday it funded the acquisition and related transaction expenses through an existing revolving credit facility.
