Crypto-Agility and Quantum Cybersecurity Threats: Understanding PQC and QKD Webinar

Recorded on Monday, October 31, 2022 1:00pm-2:00pm EST   Virtual, ON24

To meet the quantum threat to cybersecurity, organizations need to be crypto-agile, layering multiple security approaches. Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) should both be considered in any risk and impact analysis and can be effectively layered to maintain crypto-agility.

Join Michele Mosca, Marc Manzano, Kelly Richdale and Nadia Carlston as they discuss how an integrated ecosystem of solutions can make your organization quantum ready.

  • Nadia Carlsten
    Nadia Carlsten -
    VP of Product, SandboxAQ

Dr. Nadia Carlsten is VP of Product at Sandbox AQ. In this role she is responsible for managing product development across the company’s quantum security, sensing, and simulation & optimization efforts and helping define the long-term strategy for delivering useful products to customers. Previously she was Head of Product at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing where she helped define the strategic direction of Amazon’s efforts in the development of quantum hardware and algorithms, and helped launch Amazon Braket, AWS’s quantum computing service. Prior to Amazon, she was Director of Commercialization at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security where she was responsible for bringing new technologies to market and successfully launching multiple startups in the areas of cybersecurity and machine learning. Nadia has a PhD in engineering from UC Berkeley, and degrees in Chemistry and Physics from the University of Virginia.

  • Marc Manzano
    Marc Manzano -
    Director - Quantum Security, SandboxAQ

Marc Manzano leads the quantum security group at Sandbox. His current research interests include post-quantum cryptography, lightweight cryptography, fully-homomorphic encryption, the intersection between machine learning and cryptanalysis, performance optimisations of cryptographic implementations on a wide range of architectures, and quantum algorithms. He has presented more than 25 articles at international conferences, published more than ten journal papers, and collaborated on several scientific books related to cryptography and computer networks security. Over the past ten years, Dr Manzano has led the development of many secure cryptographic libraries and protocols. Dr Manzano was formerly the Vice President of the Cryptography Research Centre at the Technology Innovation Institute, a UAE-based scientific research centre. Prior to that, he held several positions where he was responsible for implementing pivotal cryptographic components of a variety of secure communication products, including an electronic voting platform. Dr Manzano holds a PhD in Computers Network Security, which he earned under the supervision of the University of Girona (Spain) and Kansas State University (United States). He earned an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Girona (Spain), while he did research stays at UC3M (Spain) and at DTU (Denmark). He initiated his research career while finalizing his BSc in Computer Engineering at Strathclyde University (UK).
