The State Department has approved a potential $104M foreign military sale to Egypt of one Northrop Grumman-built (NYSE: NOC) system for protecting aircrews from incoming infrared threats. The Egyptian government asked to buy an AN/AAQ-24(V)N Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures system for integration onto the country's head-of-state airplane, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.

Northrop to Support NASA UAS Data Collection Test Under $70M Contract

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has landed a five-year, $70M contract to help NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center integrate sensor technology onto unmanned aircraft. The company will perform engineering, production and technical services under the Global Hawk Skyrange program aimed at demonstrating an alternative approach to collect data with the high-altitude, long-endurance aircraft, the agency said Wednesday.

Veritas Capital Strikes $3.4B Cash Deal for Northrop’s Federal IT, Mission Support Business

Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire Northrop Grumman’s (NYSE: NOC) federal information technology and mission support services business for approximately $3.4B in cash. The transaction is expected to conclude in the first half of 2021 and Veritas said Monday it expects to merge the Northrop federal IT business with its portfolio company Peraton upon the deal’s closing, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
