SMX’s Peter LaMontagne Receives 2025 Wash100 Award

SMX CEO Peter LaMontagne has received the 2025 Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson.

LaMontagne earned his first Wash100 Award in recognition of his leadership in steering SMX during a significant growth phase.

The Wash100 Award was launched in 2014 by Garrettson to recognize the most impactful leaders shaping the government contracting landscape. The 100 individuals selected each year exemplify exceptional leadership, dedication and a forward-thinking approach to the industry.

Garrettson said of LaMontagne, “2025 marks Peter’s Wash100 debut and he’s making a splashy entrance. As CEO of SMX, Peter is steering the company through a period of massive growth, including securing a $3.2 billion task order to support Special Operations Forces in the Indo-Pacific and acquiring cBEYONData to expand SMX’s public sector tech offerings.”

Driving SMX’s Growth Through Strategic Moves

LaMontagne spearheaded SMX’s strategic growth through significant acquisitions and contract awards. Under his leadership, SMX completed the acquisition of cBEYONData, enhancing its public sector technology capabilities in planning, financial and analytical requirements.

SMX also secured a seven-year, $3.2 billion Long-Range Enterprise Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Activity task order from the General Services Administration Assisted Acquisition Services and an eight-year, $8 billion Supplies and Support Services 2 contract from the FBI.

The company also landed a spot on a potential 10-year, $2 billion Foundation Cloud Hosting Services 2 contract from the Department of the Interior and a five-year, $79.4 million Cloud Governance and Administration of Technology and Engineering contract from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
