Shockey has been with Boeing twice in his 35-year career. Before rejoining the company, he served as senior VP of global government relations at RTX for over three years. During his first stint at Boeing, he was VP of global sales and marketing for the Defense, Space & Security division. He also served as VP of federal affairs and international policy for government operations.
The executive also had three stints in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was the staff director for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 2015 to 2016, deputy director of the House Appropriations Committee from 2015 to 2011 and the legislative director, appropriations associate and legislative assistant for Congressman Jerry Lewis from 1991 to 1998.
