Former Datto Exec John Abbot Named Dataminr CFO

John Abbot, an executive with over three decades of experience, has joined Dataminr to serve as chief financial officer responsible for the artificial intelligence company’s accounting, finance, legal and facilities functions.

Dataminr said Thursday Abbot previously worked as CFO of security and software company Datto, where he provided support as it underwent initial public offering in 2020 and $6.2 billion sale to Kaseya in 2022.

“With his proven track record driving growth and scaling tech businesses, his deep financial expertise, and extensive experience helping companies successfully navigate the public markets, John is a valuable addition to Dataminr’s executive leadership team,” commented Ted Bailey, founder and CEO of Dataminr.

Abbot held a number of CFO roles in his 30-year career, formerly working at Cumulus Media, Telx and Insight Communications. He was also with Goldman Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley & Co. for over a decade of investment banking work.
