CAES Adds Former Lawmaker Martha McSally to Board; Mike Kahn Quoted

Martha McSally, a former member of U.S. Congress and retired Air Force colonel, has joined the board of directors of defense technology provider CAES.

She brings more than 35 years of national security, defense and aerospace experience to the Arlington, Virginia-based company’s board and fills the seat vacated by Wayne Berman, global head of government affairs for Blackstone, CAES said Tuesday.

McSally represented Arizona’s second congressional district before she became a senator for the state.

Prior to her legislative career, McSally served as a USAF A-10 pilot and became the first female aviator to fly in a fighter aircraft. Her military service included six deployments in the Middle East and Afghanistan, as well as a leadership role in the establishment of U.S. Africa Command.

“As CAES looks to the future, Sen. McSally’s experiences will help advance the company’s growth,” said Mike Kahn, president and CEO of CAES and a two-time Wash100 awardee.
