SDA Releases Satellite Ground System Operations RFP

The Space Development Agency is seeking a contractor to establish the ground infrastructure that will support SDA’s future missile detection and tracking satellite constellation.

Interested parties should provide the agency electronic proposals for the design, development and delivery of Tranche 1 operations and integration segment, according to a solicitation notice posted on SAM.gov.

SDA issued its draft request for proposals for an other transaction prototyping effort to build up to 28 space vehicles as part of the T1 Tracking Layer.

For the satellite ground segment, the agency expects potential offerors to demonstrate capacities to support systems that will be built to facilitate data transfer and communications through a group of mass-producible satellites intended for low-Earth orbit.

A selected industry team could also be tasked with supporting future warfighting capability layers of the National Defense Space Architecture and tranches from government-owned and contractor-operated operation centers.

Submissions for the first six volumes of the RFP are due Feb. 24 and offers for the seventh volume are due March 3.
