Bret Taylor Elevates to Co-CEO, Board Vice Chair at Salesforce

Bret Taylor, president and chief operating officer of Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) over the past two years, has been elevated to the roles of co-CEO and vice-chair of the board.

He will work alongside fellow CEO Marc Benioff to lead the San Francisco-based customer relationship management software provider, the company said Tuesday.

Taylor previously served as chief technology officer of Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) for three years until July 2012 and as CEO of Quip, which Salesforce acquired in August 2016. His career also includes board membership at Axon (Nasdaq: AXON) and Twitter (NYSE: TWTR), whose board he now chairs.

In the same announcement, Salesforce said Williams-Sonoma President and CEO Laura Alber will serve on the company’s board of directors.

Former United Airlines (Nasdaq: UAL) CEO Oscar Munoz is set to join the board on Jan. 1. He has served on Salesforce’s global advisory board since June.
