Inertial Labs Acquires Memsense for Aerospace, Defense Electronics Market Push

Paeonian Springs, Virginia-based navigation and sensor module provider Inertial Labs has acquired Memsense, which develops inertial measurement units designed for aerospace and defense platforms.

Inertial Labs said the combined entity aims to introduce new products in the areas of GPS-denied navigation, industrial machines and autonomy.

The two companies expect the combination to reach an annual production capacity of 50,000 units to help address sector guidance and navigation requirements, invest in research and development projects and offer consumer- and tactical-grade IMUs and other devices for unmanned vehicles.

The acquisition was also part of Inertial Labs’ push to add IMU models to its portfolio of inertial navigation systems, motion reference units and wave sensors.

Inertial Labs and MEMSENSE employ a combined workforce of over 100 personnel and serve 500 customers.
