Former Microsoft Exec Anand Eswaran Named CEO of Veeam Software

Anand Eswaran, a former executive at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), has joined data management company Veeam Software as CEO.

He succeeds William Largent, who has led Veenam since early 2020 and stepped down from the chief executive post to focus on his duties as board chairman, Veeam said Thursday.

Eswaran most recently served as president and chief operating officer at RingCentral (NYSE: RNG), a communications and collaboration service provider that generated annual recurring revenues of $1.6 billion under his leadership.

His work at RingCentral encompassed leadership across engineering, information technology, human resources, customer care, services, marketing, sales and human resources functions.

He spent five years at Microsoft in corporate vice president with responsibility for the company’s enterprise sector and its customer success, digital and industry solutions and global services and support business.

Eswaran’s career also includes time at HP, Vignette and SAP. He was a founding advisory board member for the Technology Services Industry Association.

Columbus, Ohio-based Veeam offers data recovery, backup and data protection software products designed to support physical, virtual and multicloud information technology systems.
