DARPA, Army Officials to Head Potomac Officers Club AI Forum With Keynote Speeches

The costs associated with artificial intelligence development, training and implementation will be the focal point of discussions for the next event in the Potomac Officers Club’s Data-Driven 2021 Series.

Timothy Grayson, director of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency’s Strategic Technology Office, will kick off the “The Cost of AI” forum. Grayson will be introduced by Josh Wilson, senior vice president of service lines and technology at LMI.

In his current capacity, Grayson is responsible for overseeing the office that aims to develop warfighting systems, support tools and decision aids intended for joint multidomain operations.

He told AI Trends in an interview that he believes the technology could help the Department of Defense build a cyber-physical system-of-systems architecture for service branches to perform multidomain operations.

Grayson’s address to POC’s Nov. 9 virtual event will be followed by a panel discussion among representatives from the U.S. Army, Navy and Databricks.

Maj. Gen. Matthew Easley, director for cybersecurity and chief information security officer of the U.S. Army, will deliver the closing keynote at the forum.

Easley assumed his current role in September 2020 and oversees the Army’s data security policy development initiatives as well as represents the branch on DOD proposals related to cybersecurity policy.

Join this POC event to hear from government and business leaders as they share insights into budget planning and funding considerations across AI programs. Register here.
