Austal USA Lands Potential $216M Navy LCS Service Contract

An Austal subsidiary in Mobile, Alabama, will help the U.S. Navy maintain littoral combat ships deployed to the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific region under a potential $215.8 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The five-year IDIQ award to Austal USA has a $72.5 million initial value that covers LCS continuous maintenance and emergent repair services, the company said Tuesday.

It marks the Navy’s third contract with the Australian military shipbuilder’s U.S. subsidiary after the branch awarded the Sustainment Execution East and West contracts.

The new award follows an agreement between Austal USA and the San Diego Port of Commissioners that allows the company to lease a 15-acre waterfront facility to repair ships for domestic military customers.
