BlueHalo to Develop Cloud Tech for Missile Defense Agency

BlueHalo was awarded a $30.3 million contract from the Missile Defense Agency to create a cloud platform that will be used for monitoring, identifying, targeting and engaging weapon system threats.

The Department of Defense said Wednesday the contractor will conduct integration and assessment activities aside from developing a Command, Acquire, Track, Assess, eNgage and Analyze cloud technology under the cost-plus-fixed-fee award.

The CATANA cloud development contract also provides for the technology’s infrastructure, interface and core component.

In December 2020, MDA released a broad agency announcement detailing an advanced research opportunity that seeks emerging technologies that could help boost the capabilities of its Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications office.

The award was the result of the BAA and BlueHalo will perform contract work in Huntsville, Alabama through November 2025.

MDA is obligating $5.7 million in fiscal 2021 research, development, test and evaluation funds on the award.
