Zscaler’s Stephen Kovac on New Executive Order on National Cybersecurity Improvement

TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 3, 2021 — Stephen Kovac, vice president of global government and head of corporate compliance at Zscaler, and other technology industry leaders consider President Joe Biden’s May 12 executive order, which directs agencies to implement multifactor authentication technology and adopt zero trust architecture, as a way to update cybersecurity requirements for cloud services, ExecutiveBiz reported May 13.

“The Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity moves us into the era of Cloud Secure,” said Kovac.

According to Kovac, the government could base its cloud security modernization efforts on the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program of the General Services Administration and the Trusted Internet Connections framework of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
