Michael McCord Confirmed as DOD Comptroller, Ronald Moultrie to Become Defense Undersecretary for Intelligence & Security

Michael McCord and Ronald Moultrie received Senate confirmation to serve as comptroller at the Department of Defense and as DOD undersecretary for intelligence and security, respectively, Defense News reported Friday.

McCord, a 2015 Wash100 awardee, oversaw financial and budgetary functions at the Pentagon as its comptroller and chief financial officer during the Obama administration.

He most recently served as director of civil-military programs at the Stennis Center for Public Service and previously spent more than two decades with the Senate Armed Services Committee, the House Budget Committee and the Congressional Budget Office.

Moultrie is the founder and CEO of Oceanus Security Strategies. His public sector career included time as director of operations at the National Security Agency and work in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the CIA and the U.S. Air Force.

The two newly confirmed DOD officials discussed their agenda at congressional hearings last month.
